Solar de Randez, Rioja Crianza 2021

Raimundo Abando is head winemaker of RIoja's Solar de Randez. Gentle giant Rai used to compete in triathlons at international level, but now puts all his energy into producing and ageing some very elegant Rioja. He is the 3rd generation of winemakers in his family, dating back to 1900, and his wines truly speak of authentic Riojan tradition. Crianza 2018 is made from a blend of organically farmed Tempranillo with a touch of Graciano. It was aged for one year in barrel and one in bottle prior to release to keep those fresher, fruity flavours we love. It's an effortlessly inviting wine with notes of strawberry, dark cherries and spicy liquorice, rounding out a well-balanced and concentrated palate.
